On 18.09. was the long-awaited league opener for the new U13 of DFI Bad Aibling. Right at the beginning of the season, the team went to SB Chiemgau Traunstein in pouring rain. The opening minutes of the DFI were rather choppy, given the circumstances. Many careless losses of the ball and problems to get going on the wet ground. Nevertheless, the Kurstädter were the more dangerous team. Max Pohl tested the strong goalkeeper of Traunstein twice, but he was able to keep his box clean. After that, it was the hosts who scored the first goal of the match after 15 minutes. After an inaccurate pass in the DFI backline, the two SBC attackers played the situation well and were able to slot in for the 1-0 lead. But DFI was better in the game and scored 1:1 right after the kickoff. This time it was David Sulewski, who after a nice combination in the midfield against the Traunstein defense was able to push through and put in the front thoughtfully. Inspired by the goal, DFI continued to be brave and won the ball a few times, but did not score again before halftime. When the whistle blew again, the Aiblingen team’s strategy was clear: convert their superiority into goals. After 5 minutes played, it was a standard situation that brought the opening goal. After a corner by David Girg, Ole Mansfeld rose highest in front of the keeper and could confidently head in for the 1:2 lead. After that, the game increasingly lost its structure. Many long balls and switching situations, in which DFI mostly emerged victorious. The final score of 1:3 was then marked by captain Finn Nocker after a good pass from newcomer Paul Preindl. The Aiblinger thus deserved to win the league opener and now hope to continue the positive trend of recent weeks in the next games.
